Financial Risk: to Hedge or Not to Hedge
The mining industry has often been criticized for its approach to hedging financial risk. This presentation tackles the subject from multiple angles and considers the impact on various stakeholders. The objective is to help companies develop a forward-looking and transparent methodology to find a balance between long-term survival and market opportunities.
Biography:
Antoine Lajoie holds a Master’s in Finance and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and has 20 years of experience in financial risk management and derivatives. He joined the Treasury of the National Bank in 1996 and began his career as a consultant to companies in sectors such as money markets, interest rate financial engineering, currencies and commodities. Subsequently appointed head of the foreign exchange and derivatives team as Senior Director where Antoine managed a team of more than twenty consultants in financial risk management. Now at FINMETRIX, he works in partnership with his clients, to manage their financial market risks related to currencies, interest rate and commodities.
