For its Wednesday, January 29, 2020 meeting, the Toronto Discussion Group of CIM’s Management and Economics Society is pleased to welcome:

Reno Pressacco

CIM Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Best Practices Committee

who will deliver a presentation on:

Overview of the 2019 Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Best Practices Guidelines

Abstract: Reno Pressacco will discuss CIM’s recently approved Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Best Practices Guidelines, prepared by a committee of knowledgeable and experienced individuals to update CIM’s 2003 Best Practices Guidelines. Their work draws on information from various international guidelines, and incorporates lessons learned and knowledge gained by colleagues in the intervening years. There have been extensive revisions and additions to the original document in terms of structure and content. Since their roll-out, the updated guidelines have been well received and are expected to be a seminal reference source for Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimators within Canada and internationally.

BIO: Reno Pressacco holds a Masters Degree from McGill University. His career over 30 years has included mineral exploration, development, mining operations, consulting, and corporate roles with companies large and small. His responsibilities as a Principal Geologist at RPA comprise Mineral Resource estimates; audits and reviews of Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves; technical due diligence reviews of exploration, development, and operating properties; Technical Reporting compliant with National Instrument 43-101; and the assessment and valuation of mines and mineral properties. Reno is a member of the CIM Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve Best Practices Committee as well as a member of the PDAC Technical Session Organizing Committee.
